Who We Are.
Coastal Insurance Brokers has been an independent insurance agency since 2009, based in Mount Pleasant with a second office in North Myrtle Beach. Being independent means we're not selling one company's product — we compare coverage across 25+ carriers to find the right fit for your specific property and risk, not the one policy we're contracted to push. We specifically focus on the risks that come with living on the South Carolina coast: wind and hurricane exposure, flood zones, older coastal construction, and the kind of high-value or hard-to-place properties that standard carriers sometimes decline. Our agency also holds a South Carolina Surplus Lines Broker license, which gives us access to specialty markets most local agencies can't reach directly.

John Cosgrove, Owner & Principal Insurance Advisor, has held his South Carolina Property & Casualty license since 2006 (License #446274) and his South Carolina Surplus Lines Broker license since 2009.
